Ah, the new IIHS offset shipping container crash test.
Toyota gets no stars. No stars at all...

I don't think that's gore, if you're referring to the red all over the white; as the shipping container is the same rusty red and likely responsible for the transfer.
That said, I don't know how anyone could have endured this crushing force.

I know I shouldn't ask...but was there someone in there?

It's probably oil or some shit which came out of the drivetrain as it was being smashed.
If anyone were inside that van, you wouldn't be simply seeing blood. You'd also see shattered bones and other human remains.

if there was, they still are

I'm pretty sure it's paint from the container. I can't imagine anybody in the Toyota survived that one.

yup. Thats why I ask, I don't see any evidence of removal or well...presence.

That's horrifying...
Usually, I'd be sorry for the HiAce that was flattened (if it was just parked with no one inside), but that sort of emotion is rather inappropriate here.

That would be a very heavy load.
And that looks a lot like blood, though there are certainly many other fluids in a car.
This is the Google translation of the Thai text from the news article:

Holy shit. That is horrifying.
Poor young fella couldn't react to anything. Extraordinary bad luck.
You see in cartoons the piano falling from a high rise and say, that ain't real... but somehow this is...? This is just insane.

correction: That wood be a very heavy load.

That has to be trans fluid. Blood is much thicker. You'll know it when you see it.
